Partnerships
The staff at
the Instructional Resource Center is committed to the development of
partnerships within the community. Partnerships serve as a catalyst
for student learning by providing outstanding experiences beyond the
regular classroom.

|
Apple Computers
provides the IRC with technology and expertise for research and development
of curriculum. Apple education specialists work closely with UCS staff
to develop student activities that integrate technology and best educational
practices; including alternative assessments.

|
|
Central Michigan
University's Museum of Cultural and Natural History loans the IRC artifacts
for their fourth grade Time Travel Through Michigan program.
These artifacts enrich the study of Michigan history for over 1500 students
per year.

|
|
|
|
Cranbrook Institute
of Science furnishes the IRC with exhibits containing fascinating artifacts
from its collections. Cranbrook experts work with UCS students and teachers
to extend classroom learning to the IRC. Cranbrook also collaborates
with the IRC in the development of student activities. The Cranbrook/IRC
partnership includes a summer camp program where UCS students and parents
travel to an archeological dig site.

The Detroit
Science Center supplies the IRC with hands-on science exhibits.
|
|
|
|
|
Deneweth's
furnishes plant materials, equipment, and aquaculture materials to the
IRC greenhouse. Deneweth's skilled professionals visit the IRC to share
the world of greenhouses and horticulture with Utica students.

|
|
|
|
English Gardens
donates plant materials for the IRC greenhouse.
|
|
|
|
|
The Ford Motor
Company's Van Dyke Plant specialists share their vision for a cleaner
environment as they present their "Environmental Ambassadors"
program to UCS students.

|
|
|
Through their
hydroponics division, Hydro Harry's, Harry's Garden Center shares their
hydroponics knowledge and contributes materials for the IRC greenhouse.

|
|
Michigan Historical
Museum loans the IRC artifacts for their fourth grade Time Travel

and knowledge of human systems. Our partnership includes the use of
St. Joseph Mercy's interactive displays and related student activities.
Hospital experts also conduct other programs throughout the year.
